Word and Spirit Assembly (WASA) is a bible believing church, charged with the divine mandate of liberating, restoring and transforming lives of men and women through the light of God’s WORD and the power of His SPIRIT. It is a spiritual and a prophetic church designed for the body of Christ to grow and mature into son-ship.

Word and Spirit Assembly was founded by Dr. Chris Ekeh, who is the General Overseer and the Senior Pastor of the church. The name of the church was given to him by divine revelation while he was praying in Apapa. The church started as an Interdenominational fellowship, meeting only on Saturdays. The Lord used His servant, Dr. Chris to do wonders in these fellowships as great testimonies and miracles were recorded.

On the 15th 0f April 2001, Word and Spirit Assembly started as a full-fledged church also by divine direction because Dr. Chris always follow divine instructions. It started at number 20 Fuboye Ayodeji Street, Ijegun Satellite Town Lagos. On the 1st of March, WASA moved to 322 Rd, E close, Festac Town Lagos. While in Festac, lives were transformed through healing, breakthrough and deliverance from life challenges. The God, who knows it all, who surpasses all human understanding, knows that the time has come for His name to be glorified, moved WASA back to Satellite Town by giving us a land of our own to establish His kingdom on earth. The bible said that the works are many but the laborers are few; He knows that Satellite Town needs a vibrant servant like Dr. Chris Ekeh.

On the 31st of December 2004, the church relocated to its present and permanent site at 78, Mumuni Adio Badmus Road, Waterside Ijegun, Satellite Town Lagos. The Lord has blessed the church both in might and in splendor. Miracles, healings and deliverance have been happening on a daily basis. The blinds have been receiving their sights; mad people regaining their senses; and uncountable healings recorded in each of the services. Children are being dedicated on a weekly basis. These are children that are gotten by words of prophecy. God is awesome! He is a faithful God!!!
